Together this team and its sponsors will build, race and maintain Aruba’s most talked about, exciting and successful Sport Compact race car. Bringing new concepts and standards into the sport, Papo Racing Team will be the next generation to hit the sport of drag racing in Aruba. Helping out the team is the veteran Henny Leo who’s been in drag racing since the 1960's. Also helping out is the Viva Car Rental racing division's crew and not to forget Humphrey Kock, who has plenty of experience in the import drag racing scene here in Aruba. With their knowledge, skills and expertise Papo Racing Team and its sponsors will succeed.
History
In 1969 Hubert "Papo" Inocencia met up with Henny Leo at Leo’s house, Henny told him that they just came back from Curaçao where they participated in something called Drag Racing.
As time went by, Papo came up with different ideas for the car Henny Leo worked on, so he was slowly integrated in the team. Papo was the one handling the differential, traction and figuring out the problems that persisted. Then came Charlie Moron’s “Godfather”, which was also maintained by the Leo Team. Papo fabricated the roll cage and a frame connector for that vehicle which made it do a wheel-stand, something pretty rare for that time. At that time the Leo team was the one to beat. Papo worked for Henny until 1976.
